SEVILLA ROCK ART TRAIL

Cederberg Walking Trail
The 5km trail winds along the Brandewyn river and visits nine sites of rock art paintings.
The trail is relatively easy walking, the atmosphere is inspiring and in spring the wild flowers are an added bonus. Over and above Springbok, Hartebees and Eland, small game, “dassies” (rock rabbits) and baboons may be encountered on the walk and a fascinating array of indigenous plant species and birds can be observed.

ITINERARY

The tour starts with a 08h30 pick up from your accommodation. The travelling time to the destination is 3 hours. Once you arrive, you will enjoy a 5km trail. Lunch can be enjoyed after your walk at The Travellers Rest Restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully situated on the banks of the Brandewyn river, built of local stone like the rest of the buildings on the farm. The ambience is relaxed and colourful and the interior has been decorated with excellent reproductions, painted by artist Sarah Mackie, of some of the rock art on the farm.
Drinks and a variety of books and souvenirs are also on sale. After lunch we continue the 3 hour journey back to your accommodation.
